My First MUN Conference!

I went to my first Model United Nations, or MUN, conference last weekend, and it was an experience I'll never forget!! As someone who has always liked global issues and diplomacy, I was sooooo excited yet a bit nervous as I stepped into the conference room. I represented Israel in General Assembly 6 in the Taiwan Model United Nations conference (TAIMUN). At first, it was a bit scary to raise my placard and speak up, especially in front of so many other delegates. But after the first session, I found myself getting more and more confident, and later on, some of the friends I made told me they couldn't tell it was my first conference! 

Engaging in debates and collaborating with other delegates on resolutions was simply an awesome experience. I learned a lot about international policy and also a few negotiation skills, and MUN truly showed me how, even as high school students, we can understand and brainstorm solutions for real-world challenges like global conflicts and climate change. 

Going home that Sunday, I was tired but inspired by my first MUN experience, and I just knew that this was only the beginning of my MUN journey. I'm already looking forward to my next conference!!
