The Children of Time

"Mia! How long have you been here? I thought... we thought you were gone!" I shouted as my voice echoed through the air. 

"Oh dearest, you haven't changed a bit, have you?" Mia responded. "Ever since the accident, I decided to go incognito. People blamed me for what happened, and I just couldn't bear it anymore. I faked my death and simply came... here." 

"Oh! How dare you! We were best friends! Shouldn't you at least discuss this with me beforehand? And, how did you become 'queen' all of a sudden? How did you know that these people were allies?" I yelled vehemently. The guards tightened their grip around me until I stumbled backward. 

"Oh, please! Would you two just untie her for the moment?" The guards untied me as Mia continued talking, "As I was saying, I met a group of people who accepted me for who I am. They called themselves the 'Children of Time.' They needed a leader, so I volunteered. And here I was, ready to do anything as long as it benefited the Siephriers. But now, my dear, you appear to be a threat to us, and you would have to suffer the consequences."  

She signaled the guards, and I was knocked unconscious.
