The Sanctuary

"Dong! Dong! Dong!" I was chained to large pieces of titanium as I walked into a gigantic hall in an epic-looking palace. When I looked up, I saw beautiful murals of Siephriers gathering around a table and eating a big feast together. Lights were decorated in the background, shining the room so brightly. All of a sudden, the mural changed. It was now a scene from under the sea; a person seemed to be holding a whale across his shoulder. Ocean currents swayed from one side of the ceiling to the other. 

I looked at my watch. Wait a minute, today is New Year's Eve already! Oh my! Time passed so quickly! How long have I been here? My family and friends must be worried!

And now, the mural changed again. It now became, hold on, wasn't that my friends and I during last year's New Year's Eve? Wow, the mural changed based on what I was thinking! 

"Howdy, Doctor. We haven't met in a long time," a deep voice boomed. 

When I looked forward, I saw my former best friend, Mia Thorpe, sitting on a throne made of shells with a smile on her face. Things have just gone into a whole new level of weirdness...
