Chapter I: The Loner

It was another peaceful day at Lavigia, a colony on Mars. It was the year 2136. Earth was destroyed four years ago, and absolutely no one had any idea what happened to Earth or them. The people on Lavigia seemed to have been brainwashed. They were simply called by government officials to go to Lavigia. Time seemed to slow down. Everyone minded their own businesses and avoided talking with others. Families became silent; friends were muted; schools were shut down. The world now went the way the government wanted; the cruel, corrupt government.

That same day, when all of the citizens went to sleep, an unwelcomed visitor came to the peaceful colony of Lavigia. But no one noticed this unusual visitor except a young boy. The boy wasn't supposed to stay outside at night, but he didn't care. He was an orphan. He spotted the loner when he was walking from place to place, searching for food and shelter. He called out, "Hey! You're not supposed to be outside during this time!" The loner heard him and turned around, right in time to glance at the boy's face. It was somehow broken, not physically but mentally. The way the boy spoke, the way he walked; it reminded the loner of his own childhood. He quickly left Lavigia after being spotted by the boy. That was not supposed to happen. It was a mistake.
